Pokhran-II Nuclear Tests (National Technology Day)
Under Operation Shakti, led by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and Dr. R. Chidambaram with Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, India demonstrated advanced fission and thermonuclear capabilities. 11 May is observed annually as National Technology Day.
